Director;
Rae Ann McLanahan,
M. ED. & Reading Specialist founded The Children’s Studio in 1982. She is responsible for complying with all the state regulations set forth by the EEC and is responsible for creating and insuring that policies and procedures are followed. Rae Ann is onsite 100% of the time, unless called away by meetings or training sessions. She has taught early childhood education classes at both Bridgewater State College and Fisher College. Rae Ann taught several years in the public school system and was a director for the Uncommon Theater Company (a children's theater group) for eleven years. She plays guitar and is very involved with the Rose Garden Coffeehouse, an acoustic music listening room in Mansfield. Incidentally, Rae Ann's husband, Mac, created the magic mirror swirl, wrote the Do-Bee's and Don't Bee's, and helped train teachers around the country for the nationally syndicated TV show, Romper Room. Miss Rae Ann is a Teaching-Director, team-teaching the full-day Kindergarten Class which she loves!
Debbie Mega, Assoc. ECE; Assistant Director; has been with The Children’s Studio for twenty-one years and knows a lot about young children, the operations of the school, and everybody’s car. Debbie is on-site 100% of the time and in the event that the Director is temporarily absent or unavailable, Debbie is in charge and will see to the continued smooth-running of the program.
Debbie is involved in both the preschool and kindergarten and helps plan and implement many of the activities. She knows every child and what's going on every minute, and if it's true that teachers have eyes in the backs of their heads--- that's Debbie.
Debbie's two boys attended The Children's Studio many years ago and have both gone on to great things.
Julie Searles, Masters in Musicology, World Music Teacher; Julie teaches World Music courses at Wheaton College and brings many concert and dance programs to the campus.
